The University of Maryland School of Social Work Office of Continuing Professional Education is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education programs and maintains full responsibility for this program. We are also approved to offer CE to Licensed Counselors and Psychologists. Clinicians in other states should verify with their licensing Board. Carrie Sorenson

Carrie Sorenson is a Financial Wellness Educator and faculty member with University of Maryland Extension. She joined University of Maryland in 2017 and currently works in the Carroll County Office. She is Accredited Financial Counselor with over 1,000 hours of experience teaching classes designed to improve peoples' financial and health insurance literacy. Prior to working for UME, Carrie received her Masters of Public Health from George Washington University and her Bachelors in Science from West Virginia University. In her free time, Carrie enjoys reading, baking, watching sports (especially hockey and football), and riding her bicycle. She also enjoys being able to work in a position where she gets to serve those in MD and beyond.
