Description

As social workers, we must be culturally sensitive about the death and dying process. Jewish funeral traditions are rooted in respect for the deceased, from the time of death through burial and beyond. In the Jewish religion, there are several rituals and traditions that are followed. This seminar will provide an overview of the Jewish traditions that individuals practice throughout the stages of death and dying. In addition, you will learn about the different sects of Judaism that could determine their desire to honor tradition.

**This workshop meets the requirement for Anti-Oppressive Social Work Practice for Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners COMAR 10.42.06.03.A.(1)(d) with a focus on cultural humility.
