With increased use of psychedelic medicines nationally, mental health providers need to be prepared to reduce the risks for clients considering the use of psychedelics and/or helping clients who have had psychedelic experiences process those experiences effectively – what some have called Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration Therapy (PHRT). Lauren Going, co-founder of Inner Path Wellness in Baltimore City, will share best practices and discuss the variety of models in use for effective preparation and integration before and after a psychedelic journey.
Lauren Going, LCSW-C is a leader in the burgeoning field of ketamine assisted and psychedelic assisted therapies. She
wears many hats: a co-founder of the Inner Path Wellness (Baltimore’s first psychedelic assisted therapy center), a holistic psychotherapist who specializes in psychedelic assisted therapies, a meditation and yoga instructor, a dynamic speaker, a dance and movement facilitator, and a consultant for organizations and conscious businesses. Additionally, Lauren offers trainings on such topics as trauma, psychedelic assisted therapies, and Internal Family Systems. She believes healing is only possible when we experience unconditional acceptance and true belonging.
Lauren has been on faculty with organizations such as the Bodywise Institute and the DMV Ketamine Training Center. She has studied with Richard Schwartz, Bessel Van der Kolk, Dan Siegel, Laurel Parnell among others. She is trained in Internal Family Systems, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Psilocybin, MDMA, and Ketamine Assisted Therapies as well as several somatic therapies. She has continued to serve as an integration therapist for participants of the Johns Hopkins, Sheppard Pratt and Sunstone research studies.
