Liam Montanarelli, PhD, LMSW


Dr. Montanarelli has presented on creating safe spaces for transgender and gender expansive people at venues such as Georgetown University Hospital and Dominion Psychiatric Hospital. He serves on the Board of Directors of TGEA (TransGender Education Association of Greater Washington, D.C.), whose mission is to provide education on trans and gender-expansive issues.  

Dr. Montanarelli completed his MSW at University of Maryland, Baltimore. He is licensed in Maryland and works at the Maryland Center for Gender & Intimacy. He also holds a BA from Yale and a PhD and LMSW in Comparative Literature from University of California at Berkeley and has taught at U.C. Berkeley and Hunter CUNY. 

Liam identifies as queer and transmasculine.
