The University of Maryland School of Social Work Office of Continuing Professional Education is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education programs and maintains full responsibility for this program. We are also approved to offer CE to Licensed Counselors and Psychologists. Clinicians in other states should verify with their licensing Board. Joseph Cohen, PhD

Joseph Cohen is a licensed clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Dr. Cohen’s research seeks to elucidate the pathways to distress and impairment within the context of interpersonal trauma, and how to translate these findings into trauma-informed and culturally sensitive risk assessments for at-risk youth.
