Hannah Gardi, MSW ’13
Director of Programming and Training, Peace Corps

Hannah Gardi is the DEIA Senior Advisor for the Department of State’s Bureau for Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM). Prior to starting this role in August, she worked at Peace Corps for eight years. She spent the last four years in Moldova as the Peace Corps Director of Programming and Training. In Chisinau, she worked closely with the Embassy and interagency to expand Peace Corps’ programmatic impact. She spearheaded the Agency’s refugee and crisis response after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine working closely with multilateral partners, PC Ukraine, and local communities to support Ukrainians seeking refuge in Moldova. Prior to serving in Moldova, she worked at Peace Corps/Washington in the Office of Global Health and HIV, leading the Agency’s interagency PEPFAR engagement and supporting Posts to deepen their HIV work and impact. Before joining the federal workforce, Hannah founded and directed a community center in Baltimore. She has a master’s in social work with a focus on management and administration from the University of Maryland. She is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Uganda 2006-08) and is originally from Michigan.
