Earl W Stafford
Earl W. Stafford founded the Stafford Foundation in 2002 as a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the principles of Jesus Christ. The foundation provides support and assistance to the underserved and the socially and economically distressed to assist them to become self-reliant. Most notably, the Stafford Foundation created and funded the People’s Inaugural Project which brought to Washington,
DC over 400 of the nation’s underserved and marginalized to witness and participate in the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama. The foundation continued to provide support to many of the nonprofit organizations that provided the participants. In addition, the Stafford Foundation collaborates with many established nonprofit organizations to address and support programs that deal with poverty, education and unemployment. The foundation launched its nationwide Doing Good campaign in 2010, which was created to inspire and encourage people across all socio-economic levels to get involved and volunteer their efforts to help make their communities better. The foundation has received widespread recognition and awards in the United States and Africa for its philanthropic efforts.
Mr. Stafford also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of The Wentworth Group, LLC, a privately-held company that provides essential business services and growth investment support to commercial, technology-focused small businesses.
He currently serves on the Boards of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, the Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation and as trustee emeritus of the Wesley Theological Seminary. Mr. Stafford has received Presidential appointments as Trustee to the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the President’s Board of Advisors for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Mr. Stafford holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a master’s in business administration (MBA) from Southern Illinois University. He is a graduate of the OPM executive program at Harvard Business School and holds several honorary doctoral degrees.
He and his wife, Amanda, have three adult children and five grandchildren. Earl and Amanda reside in McLean, Virginia.
