This one-day event convenes digital inclusion leaders, practitioners, and advocates from across the state to discuss critical issues, share best practices, and collaborate on solutions for bridging the digital divide in Maryland. This year's event will offer a dynamic lineup of speakers and panel discussions, with ample networking opportunities.

Dr. Jinhee Kim, the program lead for the Digital Literacy Project, is a Professor, Associate Dean, and Associate Director at the University of Maryland Extension (UME). Her primary research focuses on financial management, economic well-being, and health. Dr. Kim published three book chapters and 69 journal articles and made 100+ invited and refereed presentations. She has successfully secured and managed over $10 million in external funding. Dr. Kim has led the development, delivery, and evaluation of extension education programs and community-based projects such as rural opioids, mental health, healthy relationships, economic development, and financial management. She has trained over 2,000 Extension and financial professionals and taught departmental courses addressing family financial management and credit. Dr. Kim was president of the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE) on national boards, including the National Consumer League, the American Council on Consumer Interests (ACCI), and the National Jump$tart Coalition. She is a Distinguished Fellow with the AFCP


Revati Prasad,PhD Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Prasad serves as the Vice President of Programs at the Benton Institute for Broadband and Society. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and an MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. 

With the Executive Director and Executive Editor, Dr. Prasad defines and implements Benton’s strategic vision. Through the institute’s research work and fellowship program, Dr. Prasad leads Benton’s contributions to evidence-based policy solutions to advance universal equitable broadband access, adoption, and application. Dr. Prasad oversees the day-to-day management of Benton's programmatic work.

Dr. Prasad's research has been published in Media, Culture & SocietyInformation, Culture & SocietyCommunication, Culture and Critique, and Journalism. She has received awards from the Global Communication and Social Change and the Media Industries Divisions of the International Communication Association. Her doctoral work examined efforts to “connect the unconnected” in rural India, including telecommunications policy, infrastructure projects, and small networks run by WISPs.

Category I Maryland BSWE Requirement

The Office of Continuing Professional Education at the University Of Maryland School Of Social Work is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education programs. This workshop qualifies for 5.5 Category I Continuing Education Units. The Office of Continuing Professional Education is also authorized by the Maryland Board of Psychologists and the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors to sponsor Category A continuing professional education.
