In this interactive virtual workshop, Dr. Laurie Graham will introduce attendees to the definition, prevalence, and consequences of intimate partner violence (IPV) and discuss healing-centered ways to support IPV victims/survivors with diverse identities. Workshop attendees with learn and practice skills for identifying IPV and supporting victims/survivors; develop knowledge of local, state, and national resources for individuals impacted by IPV; and gain an understanding of the trauma stewardship framework for coping with secondary trauma exposure.
Laurie Graham, PhD: Dr. Graham is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Dr. Graham’s research interests include sexual and intimate partner violence and homicide prevention. She employs an intersectional lens to address violence prevention and has a particular interest in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and policies that seek to prevent multiple forms of violence perpetration.

The Office of Continuing Professional Education at the University Of Maryland School Of Social Work is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education programs. The Office of Continuing Professional Education is also authorized by the Maryland Board of Psychologists and the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors to sponsor Category A continuing professional education.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete the online course evaluation located in your account. After the online course evaluation is completed, you are then able to download your certificate. Partial Credit will not be given for participants who arrive late or leave early.
Unversity of Maryland School of Social Work, Office of Continuing Professional Education, provider #1611, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers.
